Domestic Violence and Faith Communities Training
|
Join us on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM at the Hi-Crest Community Center for "Domestic Violence and Faith Communities," an educational, day-long seminar during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and YWCA's Week Without Violence.
This seminar aims to:
• Educate faith leaders regarding the unique dynamics of domestic violence and the impact it has on the community, • Share resources and information available within communities, and • Provide strategies on how to best engage and approach potentially life-changing conversations with victims/survivors and effectively understand and guide victims/survivors to a support system. This seminar is tailored to meet the needs of all faith practices and is geared toward clergy and faith leaders, spouses, and others who are involved in the care of the faith community members.
The training is free, but seating is limited. Breakfast, snacks and beverages will be provided.
Together with the faith community at large, we seek to support victims/survivors, transform families and strengthen our communities.
